SALT Plumbing, Air & Electric has launched its annual September fundraising campaign for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month, directing donations to the Coalition to Cure Calpain 3. The campaign is themed One Month. One Mission. Endless Hope. and honors Brooklyn, a member of the SALT family living with LGMD2A/R1. The company set a goal of $20,000 and pledged to match the first $10,000 donated. Contributions reached $8,658 within the first three days.

- Donate through the campaign page. Every dollar is matched by SALT, up to $10,000.
- Wear lime green through September to raise awareness of LGMD.

About LGMD2A/R1
Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy is a group of rare genetic disorders that cause progressive weakness in the hip and shoulder muscles. LGMD2A/R1, also called calpainopathy, results from mutations affecting the calpain-3 protein. There is currently no cure. The Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 funds research directed specifically at this form of the disease.
Why This Campaign Matters to SALT
The cause is personal to the family behind the company, and the campaign has become something the whole SALT team takes part in each September. The company held a breakfast for employees featuring Brooklyn’s awareness video, and team members received support wristbands to wear through the month.
